Entry Requirements and Degree

Article (3): The Higher Studies Committee of the College shall, through a committee, form a detailed program for the courses, approved by the Council of the Department and approved by the College Council. These courses shall include theoretical lectures, practical courses, clinical training as well as scientific activities. .

(1) Masters:
 Attend the passage of the department regularly for one year.
 Attend (4) scientific conferences or training course and two conferences or two training courses in the specialty
 Attend (4) scientific seminars for the department or other sections
 Attendance (2) discuss the Master and Ph.D.

(2) Doctorate:
 Attend the passage of the department for at least two full semesters
 Attend (6) scientific conferences or (3) training courses in the general specialization
 Attend (4) scientific seminars for the department or other sections
 Attend the discussion of (4) MA and PhD
 Present at least two topics in the scientific seminars of the department or other sections or in the Journal Club.
Preparation of a work protocol or treatment for one of the areas or activities determined by the department and submitted to the Department of Graduate Studies in the College after the approval of the Department Council.

(A) Master's degree
Article (4): - The duration of the study for the master's degree is four semesters (two years).
** And be in two parts:
- Part 1: Semester (6 months) followed by a comprehensive examination
- Part II, and the letter: three semesters (18 months)
The subject of the thesis is recorded at the beginning of the second semester, whether the student has passed the first part exams or not. The duration of preparation and completion of the thesis is a full semester (6 months), but only after successfully completing the first part exams. The thesis is discussed after two semesters on the enrollment of the degree and before the exams of the second part at least three months.

**** Entry Requirements for Master's Degree:
Article (5): A student is required to register for Master's degree:
1- Holds a bachelor's degree in medicine and surgery from a university or equivalent degree from a scientific institute recognized by the university with at least good grade.
* A bachelor's degree with an acceptable grade is allowed to register a thesis to complete the master's degree in case he received at least a good estimate in the diploma and complete the required training courses. Master degree in (7) (a).
* The letter must be registered within five years of the maximum of obtaining the diploma and the deadlines for registration.
2- He has spent the training year or equivalent.
3 - to devote to study for at least one year in the second part (two semesters).

Article (6): The progress of the Master's degree will be applied once a year during July of each year.
* Master's degree begins in October each year.

Article (7): The student is required to obtain a master's degree in one of the clinical branches and basic medical sciences:
Obtaining accredited training courses from the College in the following fields:
Computer (Windows - Excel - Word, Power Point, Internet)
Medical Statistics
Scientific research methods
B - Attend the courses and clinical training, practical and laboratory satisfactorily.
C - to work as an intern or a visiting doctor for at least one year in the specialization section for clinical sciences.
D - to succeed in the examination of sections I and II.
E - to prepare a research on a subject approved by the university after the approval of the College Council is finished preparing a letter accepted by the discussion committee.
(F) To fulfill the required scientific activities as determined by the Section in accordance with Article (3)

Article (8): The final assessment of the Diploma and Master's Degree shall be calculated as follows:
- 30% to test the first section.
- 70% for the second section test.
** The letter without appreciation for the Master.

Article (9): Examination System:

 

- Examinations of the first section of the master's degree are held in the second week of April, and the examiner will return the exam in the second half of September in the subjects in which he failed.

- The examinations of the second section are held during the months of November and May of each year and the study begins with the second section only after success in all the subjects of the first section.

- Anyone who fails to participate in any of the study materials or group (in the first or second section), the exam shall be conducted in the subject or group in which he failed.

- The number of times for the first section exam is six (three years). If the student does not succeed during this period, his registration will be canceled permanently.

- The exam begins at least one month in advance and closes the door before the test begins a week.

 

Article (10)

 

The student may not be restricted to the master's degree for more than four years. The College Council may authorize him for a fifth year and a sixth year after the approval of the department's council based on the supervisors' report.

 

Article (11): The estimates of success and failure in the Master's exams are as follows:

 

- Excellent 85% or more

- Very good from 75% to less than 85%

- Good from 65% to less than 75%

- Acceptable from 60% to less than 65%

- Poor Less than 60%

- Very poor Less than 30%

In case he gets very weak in two tests he cancels the registration

 

Article (12)

 

The master's course in basic medical sciences shall include courses and lectures in the basic subject in which the student applies for a master's degree and in an additional material or materials designated by the department's board of the basic material among the articles determined by the university council at the request of the department council.

 

 
(B) Specialized diplomas

 

Article (13)

 

The duration of the study to obtain the diploma of specialization is one and a half years (three semesters) and is divided into two parts:

- First section: One semester (six months)
- Second section: two semesters (one year) followed by a comprehensive examination in the specialization.

 

Article (14)

 

Conditions of enrollment in one of the diplomas Specialization:

1 - A student must have a bachelor's degree in medicine and surgery from a university in the Arab Republic of Egypt or an equivalent degree from a recognized scientific institute.

2- He has spent the training year or equivalent.

 

Article (15)

 

The student is required to obtain a Diploma of Specialization:

Obtaining accredited training courses from the College in:

B) Attend the courses and clinical and practical training courses in a satisfactory manner according to the approved hours.

C- To perform the work as an original resident doctor or visitor for at least one year in the specialization department or one of the hospitals approved by the College Council.

(E) To succeed in the examination of the first and second sections.

 

Article (16)

 

The final assessment of the Diploma shall be calculated as follows:

- 30% to test the first section.

- 70% for the second section test.

 

Article (17)

 

 The success and failure ratings for the diploma examination are calculated according to the same master's system (Article 11).

 

Article (18): The student who is enrolled in the Master's degree and has successfully passed the first section examination and has not completed the thesis during the registration period specified in the regulations can obtain the diploma of specialization in the case of the performance of the examinations of the second section successfully.

 

Article (19):

 

Admission to Diplomas is subject to specialization once a year in the same Master's system (Article 6).

 

Article (20):

 

The exam system for diplomas is the same as the master exam system (Article 9).

 
 (C) A doctorate degree in medicine, surgery or basic medical sciences

 

Article (21)

 

A student who holds a doctorate degree in medicine, surgery or basic medical sciences must have a master's degree in the subject of specialization from one of the universities of JR or an equivalent degree from another recognized scientific institute.

 

Article (22)

 

The duration of the PhD degree is three years (at least 6 semesters) distributed as follows:

* Part One:

علوم Basic science A six-month course followed by a written and oral examination

The second part only begins after all materials have been successfully completed.

 

* Part II and message:

Five semesters for two and a half years.

The student has the right to take the final exam and must have completed the thesis and accepted it (6 months) before the exam.

 

*** Message:

Registration of the thesis for four semesters begins at the beginning of the second semester after success in the first part and is discussed after completion, ie, two years after recording the subject of the thesis.

 

Article (23)

 

يمنح The student will be awarded the degree after passing the first part exam and discussing the thesis and pass the entire semester after the discussion (6 months) at least and pass the final exam successfully.

 و Obtaining accredited training courses in the field of "Quality in Healthcare" in addition to obtaining the required training courses in the Master's degree.

اجتياز Successful completion of the TOEFL Certificate in English (as required by the University) and the International Computer Driving License (ICDL)

 

 

 

Article (24):

* The progress of the doctoral degree will be twice a year during the months of October and March of each year.

* The award of the degree to two roles (the role of May and November).

 

Article (25): The student is required to obtain a doctorate degree in medicine, surgery or basic medical sciences as follows:

* Attend courses satisfactorily.

* To undertake an innovative research on a subject approved by the university after the approval of the College Council for at least two years (in the second semester).

* To submit the results of his research a letter accepted by the Governing Committee after discussing it.

To successfully pass the written, clinical and verbal tests as prescribed in the Regulations.

* To meet the required scientific activities as determined by the department in accordance with Article (3).

 

Article (26): The student must register his name for the exam at least one month in advance.

Article (27): The student's success in the PhD exam shall satisfy the examination committee in all the tests and in each part of the unit by taking the average for the assessment of the members of the committee. If the student fails to take any exam,

 

Article (28): The exam shall be held in November and May of each year.

 

Article (29): The student may not remain restricted to the doctoral degree for more than four years without submitting to discuss the thesis. The college council may give the student a period of one year if the excuse is accepted and renewed for another year.

 

Article (30)

* Launching opportunities for the final exam.

 

Article (31):

* The subject of the thesis and the exact specialization shall be shown in the doctorate.
