Activities of the “Supporting Mental and Community Health” Conference

Today, Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni-Suef University, attended the “Supporting Mental and Community Health” conference, organized by the university in collaboration with the Mental and Community Health Committee of the Rotary Club. The event was held in the presence of Dr. Hani Hamed, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board; Dr. Hossam Farhat, Governor of the Rotary Club; Dr. Abdel Latif Hesham, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture; Dr. Heba Abdel Azim, Head of the Rotary Club branch in Beni-Suef; and Mr. Mohamed Selim, University Secretary-General, alongside a group of faculty members and club representatives.

The University President emphasized that the conference aims to highlight the importance of mental health as an integral part of overall health, and to raise community awareness of the significance of psychological and social support. He affirmed that the university places great importance on the mental health of its students and staff, believing that mental well-being is a fundamental pillar for achieving academic excellence and societal stability. He also praised the fruitful collaboration with the Rotary Club, which reflects the spirit of community partnership in addressing societal issues.

Dr. Hani Hamed noted that the conference serves as an important scientific and community platform to discuss the psychological challenges faced by individuals and ways to provide them with the necessary support. He added that it reflects the faculty’s commitment to health awareness and education, as well as training medical staff to handle mental health issues effectively and compassionately.

Dr. Hossam Farhat expressed his pride in this cooperation, affirming that the club believes mental health is a shared societal responsibility, and expressed his pleasure in the club’s participation in this initiative, which aims to build a more aware and informed community.

At the conclusion of the event, plaques were exchanged between Dr. Tarek Ali and Dr. Hossam Farhat, Governor of the Rotary Club, in recognition of the fruitful collaboration between the two sides.
