Faculty of Medicine Council – Beni Suef University
The Faculty of Medicine Council at Beni Suef University held its 272nd session of the 25th term on Tuesday, 17 February 2026, under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Hany Hamed Desouky, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board, with the presence of the Vice Deans, Council members, and former Deans.

Session Proceedings:
The Dean began the meeting by welcoming all attendees and offering congratulations on the following occasions:
* Congratulating council members on the start of the second semester.
* Extending Ramadan greetings to all council members.
* Expressing thanks to Prof. Dr. Samra Hussein and the team responsible for organizing the Graduation Ceremony of the 24th batch of the Faculty of Medicine.
Special Recognitions and Congratulations:
** Congratulations to General Surgery Department for winning first place nationwide in the North and South Upper Egypt sectors in the Surgical League competition, with certificates of appreciation awarded to:

* Dr. Ahmed Salem Mohamed Salem
* Dr. Osama Sameh Mohamed
* Dr. Abdullah Mostafa Abdullah
** Congratulations to Prof. Dr. Wael Saqr, Professor Emeritus of the Plastic Surgery Department, on his appointment as Vice President of the Egyptian Society of Plastic Surgery.
** Congratulations to Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Department for securing first place in the junior faculty and teaching assistants competition at the Egyptian Society for Rheumatology, Arthritis, and Immunology Conference in Luxor.
**Staff Honors:
* Retirement recognition for:
* Mr. Tarek Shams, Director of Public Relations
* Mr. Mohsen Qorani, Auxiliary Services
* Appreciation award for Ms. Manar Maher for her dedication and outstanding performance.
Academic Achievements:
* Commendation to Prof. Dr. Dina Ismail, Head of the Endemic Diseases Department, and her team for the successful removal of a large colon tumor using Advanced Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) without the need for conventional surgery.
Administrative Notes:
* Department heads were reminded to update and submit their schedules to the Council Secretariat.
* Emphasis on regular attendance, teaching responsibilities, and participation in all educational activities.
* Discussion of topics submitted by council members.
